Punks not dead!

If you see this phrase around a lot and wonder, "What do you mean punks not dead??"
It means that punk will live on forever. Unlike disco, which is "dead", punk will stay immortal.

"If the punks are united, they will never be divided!" is a line from a Casualties song, Punx Unite. Listen to it! :D

Anyway, I think I might want to change my topic from reggae to punk. Honestly, I don't know much about reggae but I do know quite some about punk. So.. VIOLA!!
Let's get down, get funkehh.

Punk is a genre of rock that developed between '74 and '76 in the US, UK, and Australia. It's basically fast, hard-edged music with vocals that will drive your parents mad. In late '76, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash were practically seen as pioneers of the new punk revolution. By the 21st century, pop punk had been widely known nation wide. Bands like Greenday and The Offspring brought the genre major popularity. To truly understand what 'punk' is, look up some punk music and try it on for size. You may like it, you may not.


There's also punk, the style of clothing and such. It typically consists of tight pants, plaid, camo, studded belts, combat boots, leopard print for the girls, mohawks, and anarchy. But don't be scared!! They don't bite too hard. :3

Reggae and (most) teens.

Most people these days connect rasta and reggae with smoking weed. Maybe because it makes them "feel lighter" or "calm" or "feel like flying."
Coming from the 60's, I bet a lot of people smoked weed while listening to reggae, and many more drugs. I guess it's supposed to make them "become one with the music." That's bull. It's just a substitute for a lack of passion. Anyone can become one with music, or anything, completely sober and have just as much fun as someone with the help of substances. Of course, someone without that passion will find it very hard. Unless they have.. MARIJUANA!!! :D
..I don't think so. Anyway, what's your opinion? Do YOU like smoking weed while listening to reggae? How does is make you feel compared to being sober?

Bob Marley is (in my opinion) the most popular, respected, and inspirational reggae artist there is. His music makes people feel good, like all reggae does. What he sings about is also inspirational. Songs like 'One Love,' 'Buffalo Soldier,' and the famous 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' are some of his best hits. What's your favorite song? :o

When it was first introduced to the world, people saw reggae as music created by Jamaicans to satisfy their spiritual and emotional feelings. Either a way to occupy themselves while working or just expressing their individuality all together as one. You could say it's a way for people to get together and become friends; a way to let go and be yourself. Wouldn't it be great if all music would bring people together instead of having everyone start wars and battles between each other? o:
